Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ⅓ cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Seasonings and Garnish
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with oil or nonstick spray to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
- Season Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt and black pepper to enhance flavor.
- Make Bang Bang Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and garlic powder until a smooth, creamy sauce forms.
- Arrange Chicken and Add Sauce: Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Pour the Bang Bang sauce evenly over the top, spreading it to coat each piece thoroughly.
- Bake the Chicken: Bake the chicken uncovered in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C), ensuring it is fully cooked and juicy.
- Optional Broil for Caramelization: If desired, switch your oven to broil and broil the chicken for 2 to 3 minutes at the end to get a slightly caramelized and golden top.
- Rest and Garnish: Remove the dish from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes to lock in the juices. Then, sprinkle chopped green onions and red pepper flakes on top as garnish.
- Serve: Serve the Bang Bang Chicken over rice, alongside steamed vegetables, or wrapped in lettuce leaves for a light and flavorful meal.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of sriracha to make the dish more or less spicy according to your preference.
- If you don’t have sweet chili sauce, a mixture of honey and a little hot sauce can be a substitute, but the flavor will differ slightly.
- Resting the chicken after baking helps keep it moist and tender.
- Broiling is optional but highly recommended for added flavor and a nice crust on top.
- Serve with rice or veggies to make it a complete meal.
