  • Author: anna
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Bang Bang Salmon is a flavorful and easy-to-make baked salmon dish featuring a spicy and creamy sauce with sweet chili, sriracha, and garlic. Perfectly seasoned and oven-roasted, it offers a delicious balance of heat and sweetness in just 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar or lime juice

Garnish

  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the salmon evenly.
  2. Prepare Seasoning Mix: In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a rub for the salmon fillets.
  3. Season Salmon: Rub the seasoning mixture thoroughly over each salmon fillet to ensure full flavor coverage.
  4. Bake Salmon: Place the seasoned salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the salmon is flaky and cooked through.
  5. Make Sauce: While the salmon bakes, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey or maple syrup (if using), and rice vinegar or lime juice in a bowl until smooth and well combined.
  6. Serve: Once the salmon is cooked, remove from the oven and drizzle the prepared bang bang sauce over the fillets. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the sriracha amount to control the spiciness of the sauce.
  • For a dairy-free option, use mayonnaise made without dairy.
  • Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking while baking the salmon.
  • To enhance flavor, let the seasoned salmon rest for 10 minutes before baking if time allows.
  • This recipe pairs well with steamed rice or roasted vegetables.
