Scale
Beef Marinade
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Stir Fry
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for cooking)
- 1 bell pepper, sliced, any color
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1–2 tablespoons black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef sirloin with 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to enhance flavor and tenderize the meat.
- Prepare the Stir Fry: Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook Vegetables and Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper, sliced onion, and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp. Add the minced garlic and ginger and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Combine and Finish Cooking: Return the partially cooked beef to the skillet. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons black pepper (to taste), 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil if using. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the beef is fully cooked and the sauce is well combined and thickened.
- Serve: Serve the Black Pepper Beef Stir Fry hot over cooked rice or noodles for a delicious, quick meal.
