- 2–3 jalapeños or serranos (seeds removed if you prefer less spice)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- ⅔ cup + 3 tablespoons water (adjust for desired consistency)
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients: Remove the skin and pits from the avocados and loosely pack the cilantro. Mince the garlic and prepare the jalapeños or serranos by removing seeds if you prefer a milder sauce.
- Blend the sauce: Place avocados, cilantro, jalapeños, lime juice, garlic, salt, and water into a high-powered blender such as a Vitamix. Blend until the sauce reaches your desired smooth and creamy consistency.
- Adjust seasoning: Taste the sauce and re-season with additional salt or lime juice if necessary to balance flavors.
- Serve or store: Serve immediately as a dip or sauce or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. To prevent browning, squirt extra lime juice on top before sealing. Keep refrigerated for up to 3 days.
