Description

This creamy Avocado Sauce is a nutritious and delicious recipe that comes together quickly using just a handful of fresh ingredients. Perfect as a dip with chips, a sauce for tacos, or a flavorful addition to any meal, it blends ripe avocados with cilantro, jalapeños, lime juice, garlic, and seasoning to create a smooth and vibrant sauce. Ready in 5 minutes, it’s a versatile and healthy option that can elevate your dishes effortlessly.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 4 avocados, skin and pit removed
  • 1 cup loosely packed cilantro
  • 23 jalapeños or serranos (seeds removed if you prefer less spice)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ⅔ cup + 3 tablespoons water (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients: Remove the skin and pits from the avocados and loosely pack the cilantro. Mince the garlic and prepare the jalapeños or serranos by removing seeds if you prefer a milder sauce.
  2. Blend the sauce: Place avocados, cilantro, jalapeños, lime juice, garlic, salt, and water into a high-powered blender such as a Vitamix. Blend until the sauce reaches your desired smooth and creamy consistency.
  3. Adjust seasoning: Taste the sauce and re-season with additional salt or lime juice if necessary to balance flavors.
  4. Serve or store: Serve immediately as a dip or sauce or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. To prevent browning, squirt extra lime juice on top before sealing. Keep refrigerated for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • Remove jalapeño or serrano seeds to reduce spiciness if preferred.
  • Store the sauce in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, and apply extra lime juice on top to prevent browning.
  • This sauce is not suitable for room temperature storage or freezing.
