Description

Delight in a comforting and flavorful meal with these Easy Spaghetti Garlic Bread Bowls. Crispy, buttery garlic bread bowls filled with savory spaghetti tossed in a classic marinara sauce and topped with Parmesan and fresh basil make a perfect dish for any casual dinner or family gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Bread Bowls:

  • 4 large bread rolls (such as sourdough or Italian bread)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Spaghetti:

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 2 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh basil (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Garlic Bread Bowls: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the tops off the bread rolls and carefully scoop out some of the insides to create bowls, being cautious not to break the sides. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Spread this garlic butter mixture generously inside and on the outside of each bread bowl.
  2. Bake the Garlic Bread Bowls: Place the prepared bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.
  3. Cook the Spaghetti: While the bread bowls bake, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and return the spaghetti to the pot. Stir in the marinara sauce, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes if using. Heat over low until warmed through.
  4. Assemble the Bowls: Remove the bread bowls from the oven once ready. Fill each bread bowl with the warm spaghetti mixture. Optionally, garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
  5. Serve: Serve the spaghetti garlic bread bowls warm and enjoy the satisfying blend of crisp garlic bread and flavorful spaghetti.

Notes

  • You can use any sturdy large bread rolls like sourdough or Italian bread to hold the spaghetti well.
  • For extra flavor, try adding some shredded mozzarella cheese on top before serving.
  • The red pepper flakes are optional, but they add a nice slight heat if desired.
  • Leftover bread interiors can be toasted and served as croutons or saved for breadcrumbs.
  • Make sure not to overfill the bread bowls to prevent sogginess.
