Description

This Festive Christmas Hummus Wreath is a delightful and healthy appetizer that’s perfect for holiday gatherings. Featuring a creamy hummus base shaped into a wreath and adorned with colorful fresh vegetables and herbs, it makes for an attractive, nutritious, and crowd-pleasing starter that’s ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Hummus Base

  • 1 ½ cups hummus (homemade or store-bought)

Vegetable Toppings

  • ½ cup cucumber, finely diced
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ cup red bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (optional, for garnish)

Seasoning and Garnish

  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for optional drizzle

To Serve

  • Crackers or pita chips
  • Sliced baguette or mini toasts
  • Baby carrots and celery sticks

Instructions

  1. Shape the hummus wreath: On a round serving plate or board, spread the hummus into a circular wreath shape. You can use a small bowl in the center as a guide to create the ring and then smooth the hummus with the back of a spoon to create an even surface.
  2. Add toppings: Arrange the finely diced cucumber evenly around the hummus ring. Next, place the halved cherry tomatoes and diced red bell pepper (if using) over the hummus, adding extra veggies such as radishes or olives if desired. Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley evenly and garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs to add a festive and aromatic touch.
  3. Optional drizzle: For added flavor and a beautiful sheen, lightly drizzle olive oil over the top of the decorated hummus wreath. Season with salt and pepper to taste to enhance the flavors.
  4. Serve: Surround the wreath with an assortment of crackers, pita chips, sliced baguette, mini toasts, or fresh veggie sticks such as baby carrots and celery. Serve immediately to guests for a fresh and vibrant appetizer.
