For the Chicken:
- 4 chicken breasts (cubed)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (or cornstarch)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp garlic salt
For the Sauce:
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup white distilled vinegar
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp red chili pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Coat the chicken: In a bowl, mix the cubed chicken with flour, paprika, and garlic salt until coated.
- Fry the chicken: Heat oil in a pan and fry the coated chicken pieces in batches until crispy and cooked through. Set aside.
- Make the sauce: In a separate saucepan, combine sugar, water, vinegar, salt, soy sauce, and chili flakes. Bring to a boil.
- Cook the chicken in sauce: Add the fried chicken to the sauce, simmer uncovered for about 12 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
