  • Yield: 6 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegan

Description

Refreshing and invigorating Ginger Turmeric Shots made with fresh oranges, lemons, ginger, and turmeric, enhanced with a hint of cayenne and black pepper. These nutrient-packed shots are perfect for boosting immunity and digestion, offering a natural energy lift in just minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Citrus Fruits

  • 2 oranges, peeled
  • 3 lemons, peeled

Roots and Spices

  • ½ pound fresh ginger, washed and chopped
  • 1 medium fresh turmeric, washed and chopped
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Liquids

  • ½ cup coconut water (or filtered water)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Peel the oranges and lemons carefully, removing all skin and pith for a smooth, less bitter shot. Wash and chop the fresh ginger and turmeric to prepare them for blending.
  2. Blend the Mixture: Place the peeled oranges, lemons, chopped ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and coconut water into a blender. Blend on high speed for 20 to 30 seconds until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  3. Strain the Juice: Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, nut milk bag, or cheesecloth into a large measuring cup. Use a spoon to press down the pulp or squeeze the bag/cloth to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the leftover pulp.
  4. Store and Serve: Pour the strained ginger turmeric shots into small glass bottles or serving glasses. Serve immediately for maximum freshness or refrigerate for up to 4 days to enjoy later.

Notes

  • Use fresh turmeric and ginger for the best flavor and nutritional benefits.
  • The cayenne and black pepper help enhance nutrient absorption, especially curcumin from turmeric.
  • You can substitute coconut water with filtered water for a lighter taste.
  • Consume shots within 4 days when refrigerated for optimal freshness and potency.
  • Be cautious of turmeric’s staining properties; clean utensils promptly.
