Indulgent Shrimp Alfredo: A Creamy Fettuccine Delight Recipe

  • Author: anna
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Indulgent Shrimp Alfredo is a rich and creamy fettuccine dish combining succulent sautéed shrimp with a luscious Parmesan cream sauce. Perfect for a satisfying dinner, it features tender shrimp, fresh pasta, and a velvety Alfredo sauce garnished with fresh parsley.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz Fettuccine pasta (Use fresh for best texture)

Sauce

  • 1 cup Heavy cream (Key ingredient for creaminess)
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted butter (For sautéing garlic)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (Freshly minced for best flavor)
  • 1 cup Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (Prefer fresh over pre-packaged)

Shrimp and Seasoning

  • 1 lb Large shrimp (Peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tsp Salt (Essential for flavor)
  • 1 tsp Pepper (Essential for flavor)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley (For garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically 8-10 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
  2. Sauté garlic: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant—about 1 minute.
  3. Cook shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet. Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  4. Create Alfredo sauce: Lower the heat slightly and pour in the heavy cream while whisking continuously. Stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese slowly to create a smooth, creamy sauce.
  5. Combine pasta and shrimp: Gently fold the cooked fettuccine and sautéed shrimp back into the skillet. Toss to ensure everything is well coated in the Shrimp Alfredo sauce.
  6. Season and garnish: Season with salt and pepper to taste, and plate immediately, garnishing with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Use fresh pasta for the best texture in this dish.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese melts better and produces a smoother sauce compared to pre-grated cheese.
  • Be careful not to overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
  • For a lighter version, you can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half, though the sauce will be less rich.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley to add color and freshness to the dish.
