Ingredients
Scale
Tea Base
- 2 Black Tea Bags (or 2 tsp loose leaf black tea)
- 4 cups Water (divided)
Mango Puree
- 1 Ripe Mango (or frozen mango cubes), diced
- 2 tbsp Honey
To Serve
- Ice cubes
- Mango slices (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Steep the Tea: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil and pour into a large pitcher. Add the black tea bags and steep for about 10 minutes until the tea is strong and fragrant. Remove the tea bags and discard.
- Prepare Mango Puree: In a saucepan, combine the remaining 2 cups of water with diced mango. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, mashing the mango occasionally to create a chunky puree.
- Combine and Sweeten: Strain the mango mixture into the pitcher with the steeped tea to remove any pulp or fibers. Add 2 tablespoons of honey and stir well until fully dissolved and combined.
- Chill and Serve: Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold. Serve over plenty of ice cubes and garnish with fresh mango slices if desired for an extra fruity touch.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey according to your taste.
- For a stronger mango flavor, use ripe mangoes or increase the quantity slightly.
- Loose leaf tea can be used instead of tea bags for a fresher taste; just remember to strain carefully.
- Store leftover mango iced tea in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for best flavor and freshness.
- To make it vegan, substitute honey with agave syrup or maple syrup.
