  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 16 servings 1x

Description

These Maple Glazed Apple Blondies are a delightful twist on classic blondies, featuring tender chunks of finely chopped apples baked into a buttery batter and finished with a luscious maple glaze. Perfect for a cozy dessert or sweet snack, these blondies balance warm cinnamon-spiced apples and rich maple syrup for a comforting treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Blondie Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples, chopped finely

Apple Mix

  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Maple Glaze

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 11×7 inch baking pan with foil or grease it well to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt to evenly distribute the leavening.
  3. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter with the granulated and dark brown sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy. This creates a tender texture in the blondies.
  4. Add Eggs and Flavor: Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated, then add 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp cinnamon for warmth.
  5. Combine Ingredients: Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix to keep the blondies tender. Fold in the finely chopped apples that have been mixed with butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon for added flavor.
  6. Bake: Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, indicating the blondies are done.
  7. Prepare Maple Glaze: While the blondies cool, melt 2 Tbsp butter and mix with pure maple syrup, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth and glossy.
  8. Glaze and Serve: Drizzle the maple glaze evenly over the cooled blondies. Let it set a few minutes before slicing into 16 servings and enjoying.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for a nice balance of sweetness and tang.
  • Ensure butter is softened for easier creaming with sugar.
  • Do not overbake; blondies should be moist and chewy, not dry.
  • Allow blondies to cool fully before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting too much.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
