Description
A refreshing and visually stunning drink, the Peach Hibiscus Sunset Tea is a layered beverage that combines the tartness of hibiscus with the sweetness of peach. Perfect for a hot summer day or any time you want a vibrant, flavorful drink.
Ingredients
Scale
Hibiscus Tea Layer:
- 1 cup hibiscus tea (steeped and chilled)
- 1–2 tbsp honey, sugar, or hibiscus syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
Peach Tea/Juice Layer:
- 1 cup peach tea or peach juice (chilled)
Additional:
- Ice cubes
- Optional garnish: edible flowers, peach slices, mint leaves
Instructions
- Hibiscus Tea Layer: Steep 1–2 teaspoons of dried hibiscus petals (or 1 hibiscus tea bag) in 1 cup of hot water for about 5–7 minutes. Strain and let it chill completely in the fridge.
- Peach Tea/Juice Layer: Brew peach tea the same way or use store-bought peach juice for a bolder fruit flavor. Sweeten if desired and chill thoroughly.
- Assembly: Add a generous amount of ice to each tall glass. Pour the hibiscus tea (and hibiscus syrup) or peach tea/juice first, depending on your preference. This will be the bottom layer. Slowly pour the next layer (peach/hibiscus) over the back of a spoon or over ice to create the layered “sunset” effect.
- Garnish: Add fresh peach slices, edible flowers (hibiscus), or mint for a beautiful finishing touch. Serve immediately and enjoy the view—and the taste!
Notes
- Experiment with different sweeteners like agave syrup or stevia for a unique flavor twist.
- You can make this drink ahead of time and keep it chilled until ready to serve.
