Peanut Butter Blossom Bars are a nostalgic and crowd-pleasing dessert that combine the rich, creamy flavor of peanut butter with the sweetness of milk chocolate chips and Hershey’s Kisses. This easy-to-make bar recipe offers a delightful twist on the classic Peanut Butter Blossom cookie, perfect for bake sales, holiday gatherings, or a comforting homemade treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt
  • 2/3 cup of milk chocolate chips
  • Additional granulated sugar for sprinkling

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg

Topping

  • 24 Hershey’s Kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350℉ (175℃) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish thoroughly to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, creamy peanut butter, and the egg. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually stir in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and milk chocolate chips, mixing until a dough forms and ingredients are evenly combined.
  4. Press Dough and Bake: Press the dough evenly into the greased baking pan. Lightly sprinkle the top with some granulated sugar for a subtle crunch. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 22 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
  5. Add Chocolate Topping: As soon as you remove the bars from the oven, immediately press the Hershey’s Kisses into the surface, placing one in the center of each bar to create the signature look.
  6. Cool and Serve: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, cut into squares ensuring each piece has a Hershey’s Kiss in the center. Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • Make sure the butter is softened, not melted, to achieve the best texture in the bars.
  • Press the Hershey’s Kisses into the bars while they are still warm for optimal melting and adherence.
  • You can substitute milk chocolate chips with semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips according to preference.
  • These bars keep well in an airtight container and can also be slightly warmed before serving to enhance the chocolate flavor.
  • For a nut-free variation, replace peanut butter with sunflower seed butter and omit the chocolate chips if necessary.
