Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Puff Pastry: Carefully unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet onto the prepared baking sheet. Using a paring knife, cut it into 4 to 16 pieces depending on desired portion sizes.
  3. Score the Crust: Optionally, score a 1 cm (1/2 inch) border around each piece without cutting all the way through and poke holes in the center with a fork to prevent excessive puffing.
  4. Apply Egg Wash: Brush the egg wash over the top of each pastry piece to enhance color and shine during baking (optional).
  5. Prebake the Crust: Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes until the pastry puffs lightly and turns a light golden color, then remove from the oven.
  6. Add Toppings: Gently press down the centers of each puffed pastry to create space for toppings. Spread your chosen sauce evenly leaving a crust border, sprinkle cheese, and arrange toppings on top.
  7. Bake Again: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
