  • Author: anna
  • Total Time: 75-80 minutes (including chilling time)
  • Yield: Approximately 24 pinwheel slices (6 slices per rolled tortilla) 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These Savory Christmas Cranberry Roll Ups are a delightful holiday appetizer combining tangy dried cranberries, creamy feta and cream cheese, and fresh chives wrapped in soft flour tortillas. No cooking required, making them an easy, festive, and crowd-pleasing snack perfect for holiday gatherings or casual family nights.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Mixture

  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese (preferably sheep’s milk feta)
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh chives

Other Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups dried cranberries (sweetened)
  • 4 large flour tortillas

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture: Place the softened cream cheese in a small bowl and beat it until fluffy and smooth for an even creamy texture.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: Add the crumbled feta cheese, dried cranberries, and chopped fresh chives to the cream cheese. Mix well until the mixture is uniform and spreadable.
  3. Spread and Roll: Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over each flour tortilla, covering the entire surface. Tightly roll each tortilla into a log shape to contain the filling and form neat roll ups.
  4. Chill and Slice: Wrap each rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm them up. Remove the wraps and slice the rolls into pinwheels of desired thickness. Arrange on a serving platter and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Do not overfill tortillas to prevent filling from squeezing out; use about 1/2 cup filling per tortilla.
  • Wrap rolls tightly in plastic wrap before chilling to maintain shape and aid slicing.
  • Refrigerate rolls for at least 2 hours for the cleanest cuts.
  • Use a sharp serrated knife and a gentle sawing motion when slicing to avoid squashing the rolls.
  • Substitute cream cheese with mascarpone, Greek yogurt cream cheese, or dairy-free cream cheese alternatives if needed.
  • Replace feta with goat cheese, blue cheese, or queso fresco for different flavor profiles.
  • If fresh chives are unavailable, use green onions, dried chives (reduce to 2 tbsp), parsley, or dill.
  • Dried cranberries can be swapped with chopped dried cherries, apricots, or raisins.
  • Spinach or sun-dried tomato wraps can replace flour tortillas for more color; avoid corn tortillas as they crack when rolled.
