Ingredients
Scale
Tea Base
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 3 black tea bags
- 2 cups water
Milk Mixture
- 1 1/2 cups milk (2% milk recommended)
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Boil Cinnamon Water: In a small saucepan, combine 2 cups of water with 3 cinnamon sticks. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil to infuse the water with cinnamon flavor.
- Steep Tea: Remove the saucepan from heat and add 3 black tea bags. Cover the pot and let the tea steep for 7 minutes to fully develop its rich taste.
- Warm Milk: While the tea is steeping, gently warm 1 1/2 cups of 2% milk in the microwave or a separate saucepan until hot but not boiling. Set aside once warmed.
- Strain Tea: After 7 minutes, remove the tea bags and cinnamon sticks from the saucepan to stop further steeping and avoid bitterness.
- Add Sweeteners and Milk: Stir 1 tablespoon of maple syrup and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the tea to add sweetness and depth of flavor. Then pour in the warmed milk and mix well.
- Serve: Divide the sweet cinnamon milk tea evenly between two cups and serve immediately while warm. Enjoy this comforting beverage fresh for best taste.
Notes
- Use 2% milk for a balanced creamy texture, but whole milk or plant-based alternatives can be substituted.
- Adjust the amount of maple syrup to taste for desired sweetness.
- Steeping tea too long may cause bitterness, so stick to the 7-minute steeping time.
- For a stronger cinnamon flavor, slightly crush the cinnamon sticks before boiling.
- This recipe serves two but can be easily scaled up.
