Dough:

  • 4 1/2 teaspoons dry active yeast
  • 3 1/3 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 910 cups bread flour
  • Additional butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Making the Dough: Dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar. Add salt and butter. Mix in 5 cups of flour, then gradually add the rest until dough is smooth. Knead for 10 minutes. Let rise for an hour.
  2. Shaping and Baking: Preheat oven. Divide dough, roll into rectangles, then cylinders. Place in greased pans and let rise for another hour. Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes, then cover with foil and bake for another 15 minutes. Brush with melted butter after baking.
