  • Author: anna
  • Total Time: 6 hours 20 minutes
  • Yield: 8 (8 ounce) servings 1x

Description

Banana Pudding Cups are a delightful and easy-to-make dessert featuring layers of creamy banana pudding, freshly sliced bananas, and crunchy mini Nilla wafers. Perfectly portioned in individual cups, this chilled dessert is a crowd-pleaser that’s simple to prepare and ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Banana Pudding

  • 1 (4.6 or 5.1 ounce) box banana pudding mix (not instant)
  • Milk as called for on the pudding mix box

Whipped Cream

  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Assembly

  • 1 box mini Nilla wafers
  • 3 bananas, barely ripe or slightly underripe, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare Banana Pudding: Follow the package directions for the banana pudding mix, combining it with the specified amount of milk. Once prepared, refrigerate the pudding for 4 hours or until it is fully set and chilled.
  2. Whip the Cream: Using an electric hand-held or stand mixer, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in the powdered sugar with a large spoon to sweeten the whipped cream.
  3. Combine Whipped Cream and Pudding: Carefully fold the whipped cream into the chilled banana pudding to create a light and creamy mixture.
  4. Assemble the Cups: Using clear individual cups (6 to 9 ounces), layer one-third of the pudding/whipped cream mixture into the bottom. Add 5 mini Nilla wafers followed by 5 thin banana slices. Top with the remaining pudding mixture up to the rim.
  5. Refrigerate: Cover the assembled cups and refrigerate them at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours to allow flavors to meld and the dessert to chill thoroughly.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, garnish each cup with some crushed wafer crumbs, a few banana slices, and stand one mini wafer upright into the pudding for an attractive presentation.

Notes

  • Banana pudding cups can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For easy storage, place the cups on a large baking sheet and cover them all together with plastic wrap.
