Instructions
- Prep the Chicken: Slice each chicken breast in half lengthwise to create 4 thin cutlets. Season both sides of each cutlet evenly with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Lightly dredge each piece in flour, shaking off any excess.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat butter and olive oil together in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add the flour-coated chicken cutlets and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce: Pour the heavy cream into the same skillet. Scrape the bottom of the pan with a spatula to lift up the flavorful brown bits left from cooking the chicken. This will incorporate those flavors into the sauce.
- Season the Sauce: Add smoked paprika, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and Italian seasoning to the cream. Whisk continuously until the sauce is smooth, creamy, and heated through.
- Finish Cooking: Return the cooked chicken back into the skillet with the sauce. Simmer together for about 5 minutes, allowing the chicken to finish cooking through and the sauce to thicken slightly. Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve: Plate the chicken cutlets, spoon the creamy sauce over the top, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
