  • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Garnish (optional)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken: Slice each chicken breast in half lengthwise to create 4 thin cutlets. Season both sides of each cutlet evenly with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Lightly dredge each piece in flour, shaking off any excess.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat butter and olive oil together in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add the flour-coated chicken cutlets and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce: Pour the heavy cream into the same skillet. Scrape the bottom of the pan with a spatula to lift up the flavorful brown bits left from cooking the chicken. This will incorporate those flavors into the sauce.
  4. Season the Sauce: Add smoked paprika, onion powder, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and Italian seasoning to the cream. Whisk continuously until the sauce is smooth, creamy, and heated through.
  5. Finish Cooking: Return the cooked chicken back into the skillet with the sauce. Simmer together for about 5 minutes, allowing the chicken to finish cooking through and the sauce to thicken slightly. Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed.
  6. Serve: Plate the chicken cutlets, spoon the creamy sauce over the top, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
