Scale
Main Ingredients
- 450 g Ahi Tuna
- 60 ml Soy Sauce
- 15 ml Sesame Oil
- 3 stalks Green Onions, chopped
- 10 g Sesame Seeds
Optional Additions
- Diced Avocado
- Diced Cucumber
- Tobiko (Fish Roe)
- Rehydrated and chopped Seaweed (such as Wakame)
Instructions
- Prepare the Ahi Tuna: Rinse the ahi tuna under cold water and pat dry thoroughly using paper towels. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the tuna into bite-sized cubes and place them in a mixing bowl to prepare for marination.
- Prepare the Marinade: In a separate bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped green onions, and sesame seeds. Stir well to combine all marinade ingredients evenly.
- Marinate the Tuna: Pour the prepared marinade over the cubed tuna, making sure every piece is coated evenly. Gently toss the tuna and marinade together. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Optional Additions: While the tuna marinates, prepare optional ingredients such as diced avocado, cucumber, tobiko, or rehydrated chopped seaweed to add extra texture and flavor to your poke.
- Assemble and Serve: After marination, remove the tuna from the refrigerator. Add any optional preparations, gently toss to combine, and transfer the poke to a serving dish or bowl. Serve immediately for the freshest taste.
